Contracts for Difference have been creating so much interest of late that it’s important to realize the basics of this exciting product before being too involved.

Here I’ll show you 3 key tips to make you safe and give you certain key areas to concentrate on when you perform your further CFD trade.

1. CFD trading leverage. CFD trading is only a leveraged stock market possibility that gives you access to greater funds than what you normally were able to access if you were dealing with the stock market.

This can be both great and bad and unfortunately many new comers to CFD trading think that because their stock market matter was bad, it will all change when trading CFDs. Unfortunately nothing might be further from the truth. CFD trading and employing leverage will only accentuate your stock market losses, so the most essential thing to do is start small and minimise the leverage employed.

A good rule of thumb is when starting out, don’t utilize more than 2-3 times leverage on your account. For instance if you start your account with $10,000 then don’t sell total positions that exceed more than $20,000 – $30,000 in total. Maybe extend your parcels with 4-6 positions at $5,000 every one.

Keep in mind CFD leverage accentuates your returns and your losses, so the smartest thing to do initially is begin with small.

2. Improve a CFD trading scheme that suits your personal profile. Developing a solid CFD trading plan is essential to your long term success. Whilst CFD trading is very similar to trading stocks, you need to tailor your scheme to meet you personal objectives.

Initially you are eager to identify those areas that you excel at and stick to those. You may be brilliant at picking what the CFD index, like the Aussie200, is going to do every day or short term swing trading CFDs might be your forte. No matter it is that you are good at, stick with it and enlarge your opportunities in those areas.

3. Use stops wisely. Stops allow you to protect your worst case scenario by restricting your downside (unless the stock gaps substantially). This cannot be emphasised enough when talking about a leveraged output such as CFDs.

In particular I am speaking about a stop loss that limits the downside as opposed to a stop that is used when taking profits. The tip with getting your first stop right is putting it far enough away as not to kick you out too soon, but also not too far away so you don’t lose a huge amount when your initial stop is hit.

With the increase in popularity of share trading by Australian investors, it is not unexpected that more sophisticated trading platforms and products are being actively used by experienced investors searching for additional trading opportunities. Contracts for differences, or CFDs, are a increasing in acceptance in the Australian market. CFDs are derivative products whose main attraction is the large quantity of leverage they offer. Those with a good understanding of financial markets are drawn to CFDs, because of their ease of use and simplicity. Often CFD traders are retail clients, institutional investors, hedge funds, day traders or the more sophisticated investors. CFDs, however, are usually not for the inexperienced trader or investor.

With shrewd traders aware of costs and their impact on bottom-line profits, the question arises regarding which CFD provider offers better value. Yearly Cannex Canstar analyses products from CFD providers in Australia to compile its comprehensive analysis on CFD trading. CFD providers are assessed according to part-time traders and full-time traders utilizing the Market Maker and Direct Market Access trading models. Cannex Canstar doesn’t include newbie investors in their evaluation, as they don’t consider this product is appropriate for this sort of investor.

When assessing the CFD providers in Australia, consideration is given based on their pricing for Australian equity CFDs, this comprises of commission and interest charges. Cannex Canstar also takes into consideration the features and versatility of using their services, risk management tools, in addition to their margin requirements. The Cannex Canstar methodology comprises of 200 pieces of data, making the scope of their CFD trading star ratings way more than the majority of traders could hope to compare by themselves. Their evaluation is dependent on CFD trading of ASX share CFDs. Cannex Canstar also provides bonus points for having access to indices and additional markets.

The Cannex Canstar rating considers the trading platform and services offered by CFD providers, incorporating order fulfillment, charting capabilities, customer support, education, account administration, information, variety of tradeable securities, brokerage, interest costs, etc. It is not a score of expected returns from use of these services and by no means implies that an investor should have an expectation of positive returns. CFD trading is mostly a self-managed activity and return of profits or losses relies upon the individual investor’s judgments and behavior.

Past winners of the Cannex Canstar awards which are broken down into two categories being Direct Market Access (DMA) and Market Maker have been First Prudential Markets and IG Markets for their Direct Market Access (DMA) package and GFT and IG Markets for their Market Maker CFD product. The most recent contender in the CFD market, International Capital Markets (IC Markets) is poised to take out the Cannex Canstar CFD awards this year with its inexpensive Direct Market Access CFD package for full-time traders on the webiress trading platform.

I have been buying and selling CFDs in Australia since they were first introduced in 2003. Over this period I’ve dealt with all the major CFD brokers in Australia first hand. When talking to groups of traders at trading expos and seminars all-around Australia I often get asked who’s the top CFD provider? I wrote this review to help answer this million dollar question.

This review covers all the major CFD providers in Australia that I’ve dealt with first hand, when writing this review I took into consideration four major factors which as an expert trader I believe are the critical requirements to consider when deciding on a CFD provider, they are:

1.	Customer Service
2.	Platform stability and ease of use
3.	Product range
4.	Pricing

It is very important to note that there are CFD provider reviews carried out by a number of websites and magazines in Australia most of which are biased with the winners frequently being chosen by journalists not traders and determined by the amount of cash spent on advertising and marketing in the magazine or on the web site that conducted the review. Only genuine traders with real life experiences are able to conduct a fair an unbiased review.

The key players in the CFD industry in Australia are:

·	IG Markets
·	CMC Markets
·	International Capital Markets (IC Markets)
·	MF Global

I did not conduct a review of Etrade or Comsec as these companies are purely resellers of MF Global’s CFD offering.

In this review I discuss my real life experiences with each of the providers mentioned above whilst taking into consideration the four critical elements that I view as crucial when choosing a CFD provider.

IG Markets
Customer Service: I have had an account with IG Markets for the last three years I use this account as my backup account. Over this time I’ve found that their customer support has declined drastically, in-fact at on one occasion I was unable to contact a dealer as they were all busy. In general I regard their customer service to be inadequate and wouldn’t recommend them.

Platform stability and ease of use: I use both their Pure Deal and L2 trading platforms and have had troubles with both. Recently I experienced the problem of being unable to look at my positions and free equity preventing me from buying and selling all morning. I would not regard either of their trading platforms as suitable for a professional trader.

Product range: IG Markets has a great product range, this is certainly one of their strong points. One thing I would say is that if you’re looking to trade CFDs on exotic futures contracts and currency pairs IG Markets is definitely not the CFD provider for you as they have a tendency to stick with a fairly mainstream offering.

Pricing: On Australian share CFDs IG Markets has competitive pricing, their minimum commission on share CFDs is low and their spreads are tight on the main currency pairs, however for anyone who is an active trader and are seeking volume discounts don’t bother trying to negotiate with IG Markets their commission schedule is fixed.

CMC Markets
Customer Service: Out of all of the CFD providers that I have ever traded with I have found CMC Markets to have the worst customer service, with CMC Markets your problems start as soon as you call them up for support and choose a number from 1 to 10 just to talk to someone. I’ve also found their support staff to possess only a basic knowledge of their trading platform. General queries and problems continually must be escalated to more senior staff, not the kind of support an experienced trader demands.

Platform stability and ease of use: In recent times the stability of their trading platform Market Maker has improved a lot, though the platform still lacks functionality such as course of sales for share CFDs, something an experienced trader demands.

Product range: CMC’s product range is broad and not dissimilar to that of IG Markets however it is worth noting that CMC offers an exceptional range of CFDs over exotic futures contracts and foreign exchange pairs, exactly what is absent from IG Markets product offering.

Pricing: Like IG Markets CMC markets offers good entry level pricing but lacks the pricing flexibility required when it comes coping with high volume traders.

International Capital Markets (IC Markets)
Customer Service: I had not heard about these guys until about one year ago. After calling them up and chatting with one of their sales staff I thought I’d give them ago. My experience to this point has been second to none. Their customer service is top notch. In spite of the size of my trading account I have my very own dedicated account manager that is familiar with the market and what I need, this is very different to the call centre operations of IG and CMC Markets.

Platform stability and ease of use: They provide a number of trading platforms to cater for a varied range of customers. They have got a platform for learners, intermediate and advanced traders. As I’m an experienced trader I selected their advanced platform Pro Deal which offers all the functionally a professional trader needs. Although I cannot speak for all of their trading platforms their advanced trading platform has been trouble free and I would unquestionably recommend it to anyone.

Product range: All of the products missing from the two major providers such as futures, DMA functionality and exotic forex pairs are offered by these guys. Whilst writing this review I could not think of a product that these guys could not offer.

Pricing: Like most of the CFD providers reviewed these guys offer excellent entry level pricing, however the difference with these guys is that they also have a flexible pricing arrangement for frequent traders. As I’m an active day trader they were prepared to drop their minimum charge and offer me a commission rate of 0.04% on DMA CFDs, the best rate offered to me by the other providers was 0.08%, they are 50% more affordable!

MF Global
Customer Service: At first I believed that these guys would take the cake on the customer support front, however unfortunately their high level of service didn’t last for more than one week after funding my account, this was quite surprising and not something that I’d have expected. Once I was up and trading these guys did not want to know me, this sort of customer service leads me to rate them as the worst of the lot.

Platform stability and ease of use: These guys offer one platform for CFDs, webIRESS. Even though webIRESS is a great platform they don’t offer anything else, in comparison with IC Markets who offer webIRESS along with many other trading platforms. Their offering is basic and not what an expert trader demands.

Product range: MF Global offers you all the futures contracts you could ever imagine however when it comes to forex, CFD and share trading they cannot compete with the likes of IC Markets. If it’s only futures you want than these are the guys to speak to, but for CFDs you should give them a miss.

Pricing: The entry level pricing for CFD trading at MF Global is expensive, they do however offer packages for frequent traders with discounts down to 0.08%, this is still a far cry from the 0.04% offered by IC Markets. Even though the CFD commission rates are costly I am sure that if you were only trading futures you could potentially get some great pricing from MF Global

Conclusion
As a professional trader I’m quite demanding in what I expect from my CFD provider, I am sure that this is not the norm for many traders. There was actually only one CFD provider from those reviewed that could give me what a professional trader would demand, the remainder of the CFD providers have great offerings that would suit an typical trader but when pushed to their limits might falter, this is something a professional trader can’t afford to have occur when money is on the line. Besides my number one choice IC Markets I would chose IG Markets as my backup, despite their shortfalls they do have reasonably good platform along with a broad product range. There is however a big difference in customer support and pricing of IG Markets product offering compared to my number one choice, IC Markets.

Taking into consideration ordinary stock trading functionality, CFD Trading is free from the quantity of shares you can have. And there is also no matter what organization it is. Though you have to notice the one difference with CFDs. I mean the movement of cost. It is able to creep up or fall down.

The one aspect that makes sense for CFD trading is the dissimilarity between changing value.

The main feature of CFD is the contract to create a profit from the dissimilarity of two values. What makes a sense here is the right forecast which can be hard to do immediately. But in some time you can perform all this easily with no necessity to possess any shares.

What Aspects to Think of
The first thing to notice is that for CFD trading, some quantity of margin money needs to be deposited upfront for the trader. The charge is taken for certain benefits you obtain from CFDs.

You must to notice the market all the time for the purpose to receive the necessary information about the CFD. It is important for choosing the right moment to sell and purchase. Somebody with a great practical know-how may easily result in a tidy quantity of profit as a result of CFD trading.

Efficient Options To Protect Your Money
If you have a strong need to defend your interests in CFDs you should consider in a stop-loss process to be able to risk. Even in case when the cost of that share keeps on dropping you will have already defended yourself and prevented an occasion where you can lose a significant amount of money.

One more excellent way of making sure that your long term gains are not affected is, by using CFDs as a hedging tool to protect from volatile markets. You have to be absolutely certain in the fact you traded good at the CFD.

Thus all you can do is to open your CFD account to check that it is not influenced and no matter whether price drops or rises. It is a win-win case and a good way to keep investments under your regulation.

Cutting it short it is important to underline that the most alluring trait of CFD trading is that you may open up in a high position even though you do not have to shell out the entire transaction amount for it.

1. CFD trading leverage. CFD trading is only a leveraged stock market possibility that provides you with the access to bigger funds than what you ordinary were able to access if you were trading the stock market.

This can be either great and bad and unfortunately a lot of new comers to CFD trading suppose that because their stock market matter was bad, it will all change when trading CFDs.
Remember CFD leverage accentuates your returns and your losses, so the most wise thing to do initially is start small.

2. Develop a CFD trading scheme that suits your individual profile. Improving a solid CFD trading plan is crucial to your long term success. Whatever it is that you are keen of, stick with it and maximise your opportunities in such places.

3. Employ stops religiously. Stops enable you to save you from worst situation scenario by limiting your downside (unless the stock gaps considerably). This cannot be emphasised enough when speaking about a leveraged product such as CFDs.

Before you begin trading Contracts for difference it is essential to obtain a few suggestions from the experts to ensure that you don’t make many of the costly errors that beginner traders make. Below are three trading tips that can assist you in your CFD Trading success.

1.	Manage your Positions
Over and over again new traders spend a large amount of time choosing, planning and executing new positions, however they often make the mistake of exiting these trades with much less thought. This is unfortunate as it’s the exit which will determine whether a trade has been profitable or not.

It is human nature to take profits hastily while the fear of incurring a loss will see the same trader leaving poorly performing positions open with the optimism that prices will move in the correct direction and reduce losses or even turn them into profitable trades.

Many new traders forget about the old saying “Let your profits run and cut your losses short”. As the saying states when you’ve got a profitable position, it is best to allow that trade to achieve its full potential, rather than closing it out at the very first sign of a tiny profit. On the other hand, in the event you hold a position that’s moving against you, be certain to move quickly to get out of that position, before the loss becomes too great.

If you’re managing your trades properly, your average winning trade should be significantly larger than your average losing trade. After you have the discipline to trade in this way, you should be able to attain overall profitability regardless of whether only half of your trades are winners. Numerous traders make the error of not closing poorly performing positions quickly enough. One tool that makes this a lot easier is the stop-loss order.

After you have determined a price level that corresponds with the amount of risk that you are prepared to take on a specific trade, a stop-loss order can be placed at this level to automatically close out the trade. This removes the human element from the exit, reducing the risk that the emotion of hope will interfere with rational decision making.

It’s essential to understand that a stop-loss order simply gives you a trigger point for the execution of an order. If a sell stop has been placed on a long position, the stop-loss is going to be activated if the price trades at or below the nominated stop level. Every now and then, this may result in trades being executed a price that is less favorable than the nominated stop-loss price. This is called slippage.

2.	Understand the instrument you’re trading
Being over-the-counter products, there are various differences in the contract specifications of Contracts for difference. If you’re buying and selling these products, it is essential to know what these specifications are.

You must also be aware of the influence that foreign currency price changes might have on your holdings. If the base currency of the CFD rises against the base currency of your account your earnings may be eroded by any foreign exchange fluctuation or your losses might be made worse.

The majority of CFD traders buy and sell Contracts for difference based on shares listed in their home country. The simple reason for this is that traders are more comfortable trading CFDs that they’re familiar with. Most traders also benefit from the convenience of trading their home market as it’s not practical to sit up for half the night to trade a CFD over a share listed on an exchange in another part of the world?

In lots of cases it is much better to stick with CFDs quoted on equities listed on exchanges that you are familiar with as opposed to trading CFDs quoted on shares listed on markets you do not fully understand.

3.	Use the right order types
You should treat trading as a serious business. As such, you need to take some time to ensure that you thoroughly understand the tools of your business. Many CFD traders miss chances or have been stopped up out of trades at the wrong time simply because they placed the wrong kind of order.

At the very least, make sure you become familiar with these order types:

Market order: This sort of order is utilized to execute a trade at the present market price.

Stop-order: This order type is utilized to exit a trade at a specific price. Stop-orders are located at a level that’s worse than prices currently available in the market. On a long position, the stop-loss order to sell would be positioned below the current market price. Conversely, on a short position, the stop-loss order to buy would be positioned at a level higher than present market prices.

Limit order: A limit order is utilized to exit a trade. Limit orders are positioned at a level that is better than the current market price. When seeking to lock-in profits on an open long position, a limit order to sell would be placed at a level above current market prices. If seeking to lock-in profits on a short position, a limit order to buy would be placed at a level below current market prices.

You must always understand that as CFDs are leveraged and that buying and selling them can be risky. Though if used properly CFDs will become a priceless tool within your trading arsenal.

If you are outside of the trading world then it is unlikely that you know fully what penny stocks are. If you speak to different brokers they may give you different answers and you will typically find that they do not cost only a penny, or even pennies to purchase. But they can be lucrative for traders who understand them and know what they are doing.

Rather than invest your money in penny stocks without fully comprehending what you are doing, it is important to understand what they are. In this article we will look at the basics so that you can decide whether it is worth your time looking into this unique type of trading.
There is more trading information available at http://pennystockspsychic.org.

Defining Penny Shares

Penny shares are the well known title, for what’s more formally referred to as a micro cap equity. In its easiest terms, it’s a cheap stock, a share which trades at a lower value than blue chip, high cap items.

In the United States the SEC outline a micro cap equity as a share which trades at a unit value of less than $5.00. This is an official definition, but there are different, looser definitions, that are utilized by investors and penny stock brokers, depending on their place throughout the penny stock market.

If you are speaking to a broker or investor about penny shares, they could possibly be talking about shares where the value, per unit, is lower than a fraction of a cent. You might also be looking at stocks which can be traded on more obscure markets, with caps of $25-$50 million, or less, relying on the definition applied.

In fact, you don’t have to be in the US, to be talking about penny shares, as they have parallels, all around the globe, where cheap stocks and shares operate, in markets that support their trade. Top penny shares can go on to be huge name, blue chip shares, as a company grows and the markets they trade on can change, over time.
You can find out more about investing at what are penny stocks.

Because the definitions used are rather versatile, in lots of circumstances you will often find that there are some contradictions to be discovered, in the way that these shares are defined. For instance, you may have shares that trade in obscure markets, with high unit costs. Similarly you might discover firms with high market caps, buying and selling at prices well beneath $5.00 per share.

What Markets Trade Penny Shares?

Penny shares could be traded on a wide variety of markets. Within the United States, this may mean anything from the NYSE and NASDAQ to the OTC-BB and Pink Sheets. Penny Shares are more likely to be discovered on the OTC-BB and Pink Sheets, as the larger exchanges are inclined to deal with higher market cap companies.

Small cap shares tend to be found where the regulations and charges for exchange itemizing are lower. The Pink Sheets have fewer restrictions than the OTC-BB, so you’ll find them in greatest numbers there. You’ll discover that some brokers prefer not to deal with the Pink Sheets, but you’ll discover plenty of OTC-BB Brokers, with a complete checklist of OTC shares available.
Additional reading can be found at penny stocks risk.

This should be enough to get you started but be aware that trading these shares will take further reading and implementation if you intend to become an active trader. There can of course be a lot of risk involved and you should be following a proven system if you hope to make it work.

1 say’s “I purchased “XYZ Company” at Rs.2200 and immediately after I bought the stock price dropped to Rs.2000.” I really feel sad. Another comes having a diverse version “I sold “XYZ Company” at Rs.2000 and it went up to Rs.2400 exact same evening” I produced an imaginary loss of Rs.400 per share.

Solution:

You are able to acquire much more shares @ Rs.2000 and reduce your overall buying expense. This has to become done only if feel within the fundamentals, management as well as the long term prospects from the company.

To accomplish this you need to keep money prepared.whatever money you’ve and desire to invest, split it into two parts. Then retain 50% cash aside, only invest with other 50%.So if will need to buy a lot more of any stock when the cost falls you’ve prepared money.

Also now if you have 200 shares of XYZ Business 100@Rs.2200 and 100@Rs.2000.Then the cost goes as much as Rs.2400. Sell only 100 of the shares. Then if the price further shot up, you have some shares to market And participate within the rally to make funds.

Following You sold the share and also the cost went up. The solutoion to this really is by no means sell all the shares at 1 time.Sell only 50% of one’s shares. So if he price tag goes up later you nevertheless have the other 50% to market and make profit.

The golden Rule is to first do your own analysis from the stock prior to investing and purchase on suggestions. Also invest only in firms which declare dividends each year. To become sure that you are not investing in reduction making businesses.

Each Industry expert advices to complete your stock analysis just before investind within the stock marketplace.
But nobody tells you how.

Properly in my following post I will write about how to do stock anaysis making use of different tools for example economic ratios and by checking the track records from the comapnies you strategy to invest in.

P.S: If you are not Indian then replace the Rs. into your own local curreny to comprehend the artilce

A Contract for Difference (CFD) is a derivative that allows you to speculate on the price movement of underlying securities such as shares, indices and commodities over which the CFD is based without the need to own the instrument.

In simple terms a Contract for Difference is really a temporary agreement between the buyer of the CFD and the CFD provider, with both parties taking an opposite view as to whether the value of the underlying security or instrument over which the CFD is based will increase or decline in value. CFDs are settled by way of a cash payment which is calculated as the difference between the opening and closing price of the underlying share or instrument. If the difference is positive the CFD broker pays the difference, and the holder of the CFD will benefit. Should the outcome be negative, the holder of the CFD must pay the difference to the CFD provider, and the holder will incur a loss. As CFDs do not have an expiry date CFD positions can even be held open forever.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has published a Tax Ruling TR-2005/15 ‘Income tax – tax consequences of financial contracts for differences’, regarding the tax treatment of financial Contracts for Difference.

The Tax Ruling states that if you’re carrying on a business (or entering into commercial transactions) of buying and selling CFDs for the aim of profit making, any gains made will be considered assessable income and any losses incurred will be an allowable deduction. The deciding factor here is whether you are in fact carrying on a business (or entering into a commercial transaction) the key tests to work out this are outlined below:

    * The quantity of transactions you enter into each year (e.g. on a weekly or monthly basis);
* The size and scale of your operations;
* Whether or not you’re carrying on your activities in a systematic, organised and professional manner for the aim of profit making; and
* The degree of skill employed in performing these actions.

If you determine that you are not carrying on a business (or entering into commercial transactions), any gain or loss you’d usually make would fall under the Capital Gains Tax (CGT) provisions. As CFDs are regarded as a CGT-asset, any capital gains are treated as assessable income and capital losses can be deducted from any current or future capital gain.

Since the ATO views Contracts for Difference as contracts of speculation, in that you’re effectively betting that the underlying stock or instrument will either increase or decrease in value, it would appear from the ruling that the aforementioned many not be relevant to CFD transactions. If so, any capital gain or capital loss you make ‘from a financial Contract for Difference entered into for the aim of recreation by gambling’ is going to be disregarded under the CGT gambling exemption provision.

What this all means is that if you have made a $1,000,000 capital gain from a CFD trade and you can convince the ATO the transaction was entered into for the aim of recreation by gambling, you will be laughing all the way to the bank. However, if the outcome were a $1,000,000 capital loss, you’d lose the ability to offset the capital loss from any existing or future capital gains that you may have.

Because the ATO views that Contracts for Difference are predominantly entered into for an income making or gaming purpose, it would tricky for you to declare a capital loss if you could not prove that you are carrying on a business or entering into money-making transactions.

For more information on Contract for Difference tax rulings in Australia, you should talk to your CFD broker or ask your accountant. You will find basic tax guidance in the PDS issued by your CFD broker, you would have received this document before you start trading online CFDs.
